Dear Friends and Supporters,

Register now for the next CVSP to be held at Ramapo’s Meadowlands Environment Center in Lyndhurst, New Jersey!  Seats are limited and going fast for the December 1st—3rd program, which will include a tour of the Intrepid Museum — just voted “Best Attraction” at the Concierge Choice Awards.  Don’t miss out on this opportunity to meet some of the nation’s most knowledgeable experts in serving veterans, as well as colleagues from across the country.  Contributors include the American Council on Education (ACE), American Heroes at Work  (AHW), Wounded Warriors Foundation, Servicemembers Opportunity College Consortium (SOC), the GI Go Fund, War-Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC), the New Jersey National Guard, and more!  Get more information here.  See you in December!

OCP Annual Student Veteran Enrollment Survey—This month OCP released its annual survey of student veterans attending the nine ASCU member institutions and the results were impressive.  Enrollment increases among the group between Fall 2009 and Fall 2010 were at a median of 60%, with several institutions more than doubling their military-affiliated population.  Rowan University (94%), Montclair State University (161%) and Richard Stockton College (192%) witnessed the greatest increase.  Read the Phillyburbs article here, and NJ 101.5 broadcast here.

Montclair State University (MSU) Hosts 9/11 Flag Stitching — As part of its Constitution Day celebration, MSU hosted a flag stitching ceremony for National 9/11 Flag which was destroyed in the collapse of the World Trade Center and sewn back together by tornado survivors in Greensburg, Kansas.  The event, which was part of a nationwide tour, celebrated local heroes who were honored in a procession and given the opportunity to add stitches to the New Jersey patch.  Congratulations to Montclair for being the only university in the nation to have the honor of hosting this tremendous event!

Stockton College Hosts Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program for the 177th Fighter Wing — Airmen from the 177th Fighter Wing and the 108th Air Refueling Wing, along with their families, received a warm welcome from the staff at Stockton who joined forces with the National Guard Yellow Ribbon team in providing reintegration programming at a daylong program held at the College.  The group had served in a security capacity in Iraq, the Middle East, and Central Asia.  Welcome home to all!

A special thanks to Bob Ford, who graciously manned the OCP table!
